The teacher understands the subjects she or he is teaching. The teacher develops lessons that will actively engage students in the learning process. The teacher uses learner-centered practices to achieve student learning goals. The teacher connects prior learning to the new material being taught in the classroom and makes learning relevant to student’s current experiences. The teacher encourages student participation in the learning process. Also, the teacher organizes the lessons with appropriate technology in the classroom. The teacher also personalizes instruction by relating it to student experience, assessing student needs, climate building, and flexibility for personal development.
