The teacher develops high quality differentiated lessons that have been identified as the most targeted goal of educators working on professional development plans. Teachers strive to increase the number of students who meet or exceed high standards. The teacher’s goal is to decrease the gaps in academic achievement between different groups of students. The teacher provides students a variety of activities that address the different learning styles of students. The teacher provides opportunities for students to problem solve, discuss ideas, work together and recognizes that learning is achieved through learners’ engagement with various activities. The teacher also connects the subject to everyday events, experiences, and interests to encourage student discussion and participation.
